About two years ago Megan Uhrich’s heart felt unsettled about her work place and the town where she lived. Since she was recently debt free financially, she began praying about new options. God led her to immediately downsize her possessions, rent out her house, and move in with family to save money. During all this time she continued to pray; for nine months she asked Him to clearly lead.
“A year later, a supporter of previous GIS teachers and school co-founders, Paul and Paula Jarot, contacted me about this year’s need for a chemistry teacher at Grace. After their initial email, I spoke with the Jarots by phone, applied, interviewed, was accepted, and started support-raising. As I cast vision for Thailand, where God was calling, friends and family offered finances—before I even asked! By the time I found a sending organization, 90% of my budget was raised.
“God continues to confirm His direction and gives me more than I need to be at GIS, like roommates in a furnished home, close to school. And I already have college friends serving in Chiang Mai. I’m excited to partner alongside and support them in my role, since their children attend Grace. It is most exciting to learn a new language, pray with my students, and speak blessings into their lives!”
