Gentle harmony delighted numerous churches and schools around Chiang Mai recently, when about two dozen women singers arrived from South Korean churches. These believers came to minister with their voices—in English and their heart language—combined with a bit of tourism. For a few, it was their first time in Thailand.
After a GIS parent heard the choir at a Korean church meeting in Sojo’s restaurant, he asked if they had time to sing at Grace. Next, he quickly contacted secondary music director Mrs. Eckerle, who was delighted to let the ladies perform in her classroom. Staff for younger students scrambled to use the opportunity also. As a result, the choir performed both Christian and secular songs again, beside the two elementary buildings.
When the women visited our advancement division, they burst into song for office staff, bought baseball caps and souvenirs, and were happily surprised to receive colorful GIS t-shirts. After quietly listening to a bit of the school’s history, they graciously joined in prayer for our future—then spontaneously gathered money among themselves and donated 10,000 baht to our building fund. Everyone had surprise blessings!
