2023 Alumni Christmas Gathering

GIS Alumni Gathering 2023

Over thirty alumni showed up at this year’s Alumni Christmas Gathering! We were so excited to welcome back so many of you from the Class of 2023 all the way back to the Class of 2008! It was a fun time of fellowship and catching up on life while enjoying good food with old friends and teachers.

Campus Development

GIS Welcome Signs
GIS Flags

With the completion of the Middle School, the next major building project is the Gymnasium & Tiger Field House. The athletics and physical education programs here at Grace are a required part of our core curriculum. As our program grows, our need for additional athletic facilities does too. We will leverage our athletic facilities to reach the surrounding community through hosting co-sponsored events with a variety of schools and organizations.

While we are raising funds for the Gymnasium & Tiger Field House, we have completed some smaller projects. We have put up welcome signs in front of the Administration Building and of the three schools. The diversity of nationalities at GIS is represented through the many languages on the welcome signs as well as the row of flag poles in front of the school building. This adds vibracy to the campus as people enter!

For more information on our building projects and ways to donate, please visit https://www.gisthailand.org/campus-development/

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT

Kendall Miyakawa and fiancee

After graduating from GIS, Kendall Miyakawa (Class of 2017) went on to obtain a computer science degree from Taylor University. Now, he is working at a tech company doing software engineering. He greatly enjoys working and growing with his team while getting to form deep relationships with them and sharing about his faith. Kendall is also involved in Young Life Ministry with his fiancée, Caroline, at a high school where he connects with students to tell them about the Gospel and invites them to read the Bible. When reflecting on his past experience at GIS, he says, “GIS taught me the importance of working hard and I felt prepared for college. The teachers at GIS taught me that relationships are the most important thing through caring and forming deep relationships with students.” We are excited to see God using Kendall to form meaningful relationships with the people at his workplace while sharing the love of Jesus with them!
