This past Saturday was the Grace International School Community Carnival—the first time in three years!
Our students and staff have been preparing for this event for many weeks and were excited to organize and participate in it. The GIS Community Carnival provides a fun time for everyone in the community to connect with each other and care for one another. The theme this year is “Let’s go to the Beach,” and so everyone was encouraged to wear modest beach attire!
With the goal of promoting community and providing a fundraising opportunity for grades 7–12, Secondary students set up game and food booths, with the proceeds going towards their class events. Games included sponge toss, face painting, bouncy houses, corn hole, basketball throw, a jail, and many more! The food provided by our students included Korean food, home-baked goods, snow cones, smoothies, ice cream, and more. There were also local vendors selling Thai and Chinese food, burgers, and sliders.
GIS is committed to fostering a caring community, and overall, this year’s Community Carnival was a big success in bringing the whole community together to make a memorable and enjoyable day for all attendees.
