The AQI Alerts

The air quality in Chiang Mai is very poor now. Parents please provide a N95 or N99 mask for your child to wear at school. Grace International School has an air quality monitor on campus, you can view the reading here. There are policies and procedures in place to guide staff and teachers as they work to keep your kids safe and to limit their exposure to harmful air pollution. Parents who have children with environmental allergies or asthma problems. Please make sure your child has the needed medications and/or inhalers in the nurse’s office.

Heat illness Alert

April normally is the hottest in Thailand. Please be aware of heat  related illness. New GIS Website Launching Soon

We are excited to announce the launch of our new website. This will go live on April 19th. We have modernized the look and feel of the site by utilizing the latest web technology. We have merged our main site ( and the parent website ( into a single site that can be found at moving forward. Many of the resources found on the parent site have been moved to the main site. There are many benefits to combining the sites, which will allow us to more efficiently develop the site moving forward.

New features include:

  • Mobile Friendly: No matter what device you’re visiting the site from, it will display correctly.
  • New Search Bar: Search the entire site in just one click.
  • New Calendars: Easier to read and include subscribe links to add to your calendar.
  • Campus Visit Form: Need to visit the campus? Fill out our quick form.
  • GIS News Section: One place to find all the latest news for the school.
  • Student Life Section: One place to discover our programs and student services.
  • Resources Section: This includes our helpful pages like Documents & Downloads, where you can find all the documents on our site, and our Live Stream page, where we broadcast select events.

MAP Assessments

MAP Assessments for 3rd – 6th grades will begin on April 18. For more information please read the email sent out to parents on Friday, March 31 for an explanation of the process and schedule days/times.

Tiger Pride Day

Friday, April 28 is Career Day!  Students are encouraged to come to school dressed up as a career of their choice.  If they choose not to participate in the Career Day theme, they should come to school in their normal GIS uniform.

Planned Absence Request

If your child has a planned absence of more than two days from school, please remember to fill out the Planned Absence Request form and turn it in to the elementary office for approval at least one week in advance.

High School Course Requests Open in FamilyWeb: April 17-May 1, 2023

All current grade 8-11 students’ Academic Plans have been updated and meetings with academic counselors have been held. Parents and students will receive an email today that gives detailed instructions for accessing Course Requests in FamilyWeb. Course Requests open today, Monday, April 17, and close Monday, May 1 at 8:00 PM Thailand time.

The Blessing Directive

On Friday, April 21st our TBD team will be visiting Hope House Children’s Home. During this time, students will spend the afternoon with their buddies who reside at the orphanage as they partake in fellowship, song & dance, games, and other group activities. TBD is a great opportunity for our students to demonstrate the love of Christ by offering their consistent presence in the lives of these children. Night Bazaar Evangelism

On Saturday, April 29th we will be taking our NBE team to the Night Bazaar market. If any GIS parents have a passion for sharing the Gospel or would like to grow in their abilities to do so, we would like to invite you to join us during this particular trip to the market. As we prepare for this ministry, please pray for our students and staff that the Holy Spirit will supply each of us with the words to say when we share the love of Christ with these people.
